Faber YS One Non Slip Treatment
A common issue with hard flooring, from ceramic tiles to siliceous stone surfaces, is their slippery nature, especially when wet. This can be during cleaning, or when there are spills on the floor. Non-slip treatments come in to enable one walk with confidence, not get sprawled out on all fours. Slip and fall accidents can result in anything from a bruised ego, to actual body injuries like sprains, hairline fractures, back and spine injuries, and even concussions, depending on how one fell, and the impact with the ground. When treating the surface, all products are not equal. Take for instance the pH factor. Acid-based treatments on the ceramic tiles can cause etching, which changes the appearance of the installation as time progresses, and also shortens its life. With the etching, the acid-based treatments "eat" into the surface, forming perforations- basically microscopic pits. The scale with which this happens makes the surface more susceptible to staining, and it dulls at a faster rate. Dirt and grime, plus mineral deposits accelerate the deterioration of the floor. However, these areas still need to be treated. Kitchens and bathrooms at home, entranceways, the reception area and restrooms in commercial establishments- you want to protect the persons using them. For this, quality and safety of the installation are key. A formulation that will get the task done, without damaging the underlying structure. That can be obtained with the Faber YS One.

Benefits Of The Faber YS One
Increase grip
With the Faber YS One, you get to enhance the non-slip attributes of troublesome floors like ceramics and siliceous stone surfaces, even in wet conditions. Whether you have footwear or are barefoot, you get to walk around with confidence. This is beneficial across the scope, from homes with toddlers and the elderly who are at a higher risk of fall accidents, to commercial establishments where you want to protect your employees and customers walking about. The Faber YS One acts directly on the floor, forming micro erosions that even increase run-off of water that lands on the surface. It does this without changing features like the colouration of the material.
Water-based
The formulation of the Faber YS One enables it to use used on multiple surfaces, from the ceramic and porcelain stoneware, to molten basalt quartz-resin, granite plus clinker surfaces. It does not form a film on the floor, and is a long lasting treatment. You get to have enhanced grip on the surfaces for longer. With a 10 - 20m2 per litre application rate, each unit of the Faber YS One gets to be used d to treat a large surface, enabling you to boost the non-slip properties of the floors in your establishment without draining your bank account.
Fast application
Using the Faber YS One is easy and straightforward. Simply apply a layer of product on the surface, and leave it for the suitable contact time depending on your particular type of installation. Tools that can be used for the application vary, ranging from brushes and lambswool applicators to rollers. Thereafter, remove the residue, then rinse, allow to dry, and you're done. You can let foot traffic back onto the floor. When it comes to removing the residue, it is important to start in the order in which the product was applied, and take the same amount of time, to ensure that there has been uniform contact time on the whole surface.
How long should the contact time be? Here, factors particular to the surface come into play, from its composition and hardness, to the resistance. It's recommended that you carry out a preliminary test to determine what is most suitable for your floor. This can be done on a piece of its material that hadn’t been laid, or on a hidden area of the floor. Observe the non-slip quality after you’re thoroughly rinsed the area, that way you won’t have your conclusion being swayed by the residue. Manually assess it, pressing the floor with your fingertips and compare the grip generated with that on the untreated section. For ceramics and stoneware, the contact time can last from 10 to 40 minutes. With clinker surfaces and quartz-based materials this can go anywhere between half an hour and a whole hour, while for the granite floors it can take up to 90 minutes.
