Black Ebony Wood Stain can be applied on all types of solid and semi solid wood floors & wood furniture. The wood stain has to be applied on unsealed or newly sanded wood floors only. The stain will penetrate deep inside the wood without creating a perfect black surface. The fibre of the wood will still be visible. You can apply 2 coats of stain if you are planning to achieve a darker black. The wood stain has to be sealed with a two pack water based floor lacquer or a solvent based floor lacquer.
Black Ebony Wood Stain - How to apply
Make sure that the surface is spotless, dry and sealant free. Soak the cloth in the stain and start rubbing it against the wood floor going along the fibre. Do not over soak the wood. Allow the wood to absorb whatever it needs and remove the excess. Be very careful not to touch painted surfaces or areas that are not supposed to get stained. After you are done, the surface should be allowed to dry for at least 5 hours before sealing. Bear in mind, a wood stain is not a sealer. It is just a colour that has to be overcoated for protection.
Black Ebony Wood Stain - Coverage
The coverage area for this particular type of wood stain is around 30 sq meter per 1L. The coverage area can increase or decrease depending on the type of wood. If you are staining pine floors you are likely to only cover 20 sq meters per L. If you are staining more compact wood floors, like oak, the coverage area can go up to 50 sq meters per L.
