Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer - Coverage

Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer is a market leader on coverage. Estimated coverage area is somewhere between 10 to 14 sq meters per 1 L but the actual coverage area can vary from project to project. To maximise the coverage area you need to make sure that the wood surface is sanded properly with fine quality sanding paper (100 grit final sanding). Also, the coverage area will depend on the type of wood sealed and the way the varnish is applied. While soft types of wood will absorb more, the hard types of wood will absorb less. Use a premium quality varnishing roller from Bona to assure a streak free finish and no waste. A professional floor refinishing company can cover way more than 14 sq meters per 1 L. 

Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer - Where to use

Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer can be used to seal and protect all types of semi solid wooden floors, hardwood floors, wood furniture, wood frames, wood doors, skirting boards, etc. As long as the surface is sealant free, dust free and dry, you can use the new Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer on pretty much all types of wood. For heavy duty industrial or commercial traffic you should be using Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer.

Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer - How to use

You can use the new formula Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer as an overcoat over pre-existing finishes assuming that the surface is deep cleaned, residue free & dry. But most people are likely to use the new Bona Mega Evo Floor Lacquer to seal new or newly sanded wooden surfaces.

1. Sand the surface to remove all types of imperfections and pre-existing finishes

2. Start with grit 40, move to grit 60, then grit 80 and the final sanding with grit 100

3. Vacuum the whole floor a number of times to remove even the finest dust particles

4. Remember, always sand the surface moving along with the fibre of the wood 

5. Use a small varnishing brush to seal all the narrow corners & all hard to reach areas

6. Now use a professional varnishing brush to apply the first coat of floor lacquer

7. Use enough floor lacquer to create an even “wet” look surface without varnish poodles

8. Wait for about 2 hours to dry & re-sand the whole area with 150 or 180 grit sandpaper

9. One more vacuuming to get rid of all fone dust generated while doing the fine sanding

10. Apply the last coat of floor lacquer making sure to cover the whole surface evenly

11. Do not walk on the floor for the next 2-4 hours and no heavy traffic for 24 hours
