While installing parquet floors or any other type of semi solid or solid wood floors, gaps can be created. Some gaps can appear due to adhesive issues, installation issues or left like that on purpose. These gaps will accumulate dirt and will absorb all the liquids when the floors are being washed. The problem can be easily sorted with the new Chimiver Ecofill Tech | Water Based Gap Filler . The product has to be mixed up with wood dust generated from sanding the floor itself and the composition created has to be applied to the gaps. Within a few hours all the gaps will be sealed without a colour change. If the gap filler was mixed up right and applied right, it will dry up to look the same colour as the floor.

The new Chimiver Ecofill Tech | Water Based Gap Filler was designed to fill up small gaps between the floorboards & parquet floors. The ideal place to use it would be a parquet floor with a base or any other type of wood floor where small gaps require filling. Suitable for indoor use only. The mixture generated after mixing wood dust with the gap filler can be used to fill up gaps, furniture cracks, floor cracks, wood knotts & other wood issues. This product is 100% safe and it can be easily used by DIY users and professionals without any special training. Use the new Chimiver Ecofill Tech | Water Based Gap Filler on “unsealed” or “sanded” surfaces only. For the gap filler to dry, it has to be able to reach the raw wood. Otherwise it will crack and it could take weeks to dry. It can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces. It allows the wood surface to breathe naturally.

Chimiver Ecofill Tech | Water Based Gap Filler | How To Use It

The wood surface has to be prepared for filling. If the floor is brand new, then a fine sanding is required to generate enough dust for mixing up the gap filler. Using wood dust from a different floor is also possible but the gaps might end up looking a slightly darker or brighter. When using the gap filler on old floors, the whole floor has to be sanded, all old sealers removed and then one more fine sanding has to be done to generate enough wood dust for the gap filler.

Step 1: In a bucket or some kind of container add the gap filler and the wood dust and mix it until it becomes a thick cream

Step 2: Apply the composition to the gaps with a plastering trowel or some kind of large scraper

Step 3: Overfill the gaps by 10%, and allow 1-2 hours to dry. In some areas with larger gaps the gap filler can sink a bit as it dries. Apply one more coat to raise the level of the gap filler to the floor level and allow it to dry.

Step 4: Re-sand the whole floor one more time to 80 grit sanding paper to remove all gap filler excess from the floorboards

Step 5: Seal the floor as planned. It can be stained, waxed, varnished or painted just like the floor itself

Only mix up whatever you need. Any gap filler composition that is not used within 1-2 hours after it was mixed up will harden up and it cannot be used again. Do not touch surfaces that do not require gap filling. Wash all your equipment after you are done with it. Take your time and allow enough time to dry up. Do not fill up very large gaps and do not mix up the new Chimiver Ecofill Tech | Water Based Gap Filler with any other water based or solvent based gap filler.
