Floors, kitchen countertops, the bathroom vanity tops, all through to bar tops- these are at risk of staining due to the exposure to oils and dyes almost daily. You can use it to treat installations that have medium to medium-high levels of absorption. 

One of the core roles of the Faber MA 90 is to stain-proof the surface, and it delivers on its mandate. The formulation is water- and oil-repellent. Thus, it prevents spills, be they from foods and drinks, cases like lubricants and oils that wind up on the floor, from seeping into the underlying layers of the stone. This gives you more time to attend to them and clean them off. In the process, it reduces the stresses and frustrations that come with cleaning, especially due to the porous nature of the stone. That way, you won’t keep going into panic mode whenever a glass gets knocked over. This also means that the elegance that is obtained gets to last for longer.

When it comes to surface finishes, you don’t want to watch the treatment developing an unsightly yellow hue over time. This is usually attributed to the reaction of conventional products under UV radiation. With the Faber MA 90, that won’t be a cause for concern. Application process

Start off by preparing the surface. It needs to be clean before you can treat it with the Faber MA 90. The dirt- whether it is particles of dust, pet fur and dander, soiling tracked into the building, food smudges or grease spots- these will affect the quality of the results. Give the surface a thorough scrub, rinse and let it dry. Speaking of which, the Faber MA 90 should not be applied onto the surface while it is still wet. In addition, the humidity levels of the surrounding environment also come into focus. Rain, fog and misty conditions should first be allowed to pass before proceeding with the application. Waiting for that short time will save you the frustrations that come with dealing with unsatisfactory results. The popular tools for the application include brushes, rollers and lambswool applicators. Here, it will depend on the equipment that you find to be the most convenient for you. Once ready, you can proceed to work on the surface. 

Apply the Faber MA 90 evenly on the worktop, floor, wall or other surfaces that you’re working on. Use an abundant amount. Give it 5-10 minutes to be absorbed into the material, then proceed to redistribute the excess product that's on the surface. For the highly absorbent stone installations, there may not even be any excess that is left behind. The treated surface will have dried in 1-2 hours, though for floors the foot traffic should only be allowed back onto the area 4 to 6 hours after application. 

For some property owners, you may desire to buff the surface after applying the Faber MA 90. This can be done 4-6 hours after the treatment. For floors, dry-brush the surface using a standard floor polisher machine, that’s set to 175 rpm. For the countertops, walls and other areas where the polisher will not be convenient, you can work with an orbital or a manual wheel. 

Here are some extra tips that you should take note of in order to get the most out of the Faber MA 90:

• If you're treating a recently primed surface, such as one where a penetrating water repellent was used, first allow it to dry before applying the stain-proofing treatment. 

• Observe the prevailing environment conditions before application. In case it is about to rain, or if there is mist or fog, allow it to clear up first before proceeding to treat the surface. This is as the high humidity conditions will affect how the product bonds with the surface. 

• Remember to clean the surface regularly. Avoid harsh chemicals that may react with the treatment. It’s recommended that you use units such as Faber 30, Deterfug and Neugel for the routine cleaning.
