Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin | Why Osmo
While most types of hardwax oil can work well on most types of wooden surfaces, some dense or very compact types of wood can dry up patchy. Wood types like teak, mahogany or cedar are likely to have different levels of absorbency on different areas so this can mean that some areas will dry patchy. The new Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin is a very thin type of hardwax oil that can penetrate even the most compact types of wood. The product will provide outstanding durability, outstanding waterproofing & stain proofing qualities and it will also maintain the natural look of the wood. The product does not exfoliate, does not flake and it does not peel. A proper natural way of sealing all kinds of wooden surfaces.
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin | Where To Use It
As long as the wood surface that you are planning to seal is sealant free, dry and residue free, you can use the new Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin on it. For standard types of wooden surfaces like pine or oak, you should use a thicker product. This particular hardwax oil is great for really hard fiber wood surfaces. The product is recommended for indoor use only. To be applied in a two coats system over a dry and sealant free surface. It can be used to waterproof and stain proof wood floors, stair cases, furniture, presses, frames, doors, window sills, worktops, kids toys, etc. The amazing Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin is food safe so it can be used on all surfaces where food is being prepared or served.
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin | How To Use It
Remember, to be able to use the new Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin, the wood surface has to be sealant free, dry and residue free. Any pre-existing finishes have to be removed in full before the oil is applied. So sand up the surface nicely and prepare for oiling. The product is ready to use so it does not require dilution. The estimated coverage area of 25 to 30 sq meters per 1L is estimated only. The first coat is likely to only cover 15 sq meters while the second coat can stretch up to 40-50 sq meters per 1L. It also depends on the application system.
Shake the tin well to create a perfect uniform composition
Put a pair of gloves on and prepare your application tools
Place a cloth into the oil and apply the product in a very thin coat around the edges
Remember to apply enough product to fill up the wood but remove all the excess oil
The surface has to look wet but not soaked
Do not walk on the surface for 12 hours
The second coat can be applied 12 hours later
Applying a coat or two of hardwax oil is not hard at all. The essential thing is to apply little oil and remove any excess from the surface. Any extra oil that has not penetrated the surface will dry up streaky and it will take a very long time to dry.
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin | Recommendations
Do not wash the floor for at least 48 hours after oiling. Do not mix up a number of oils. Create good ventilation to speed up the drying time. Remember, all oiled floors and oiled surfaces require regular refreshments and top ups. Areas with high traffic are likely to wear off faster. You can use the new Osmo Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin Clear Satin to refresh surfaces that were already sealed with this particular oil. Use oiled floor cleaners only.
