Tobacco Wood Stain - Why tobacco

If you are looking for a clear coloured wood stain, tobacco wood stain is not for you. But if you are looking for a professional unique wood stain to create a dark and old style colour on bar or restaurant wood floors, then you will be very pleased with the tobacco wood stain. This wood stain is mostly used for staining commercial wood floors or exterior furniture. Always use a sealer suitable for external use when staining garden furniture

Tobacco Wood Stain - Where to use

An easy to apply wood stain suitable for staining all types of solid wood floors, semi solid wood floors, furniture, benches, handles, frames, etc. It can be used for internal and external wood staining projects. One coat of stain will create a pretty dark finish on most types of wood surfaces but you can apply a second coat if you are looking for a darker tone. It looks at its best when applied over lightly coloured wood surfaces. Pre-testing is highly recommended before staining a large area. Tobacco Wood Stain is not a wood stain for most jobs. It has a small market, generally commercial.

Tobacco Wood Stain - How to use

Preparation is the most important thing before starting the process of wood staining. First of all, you need to make sure that your floor/furniture is sealant free, dry & dust free. If there is a sealant on it, you will need to remove it in full before staining. The wood stain has to fully penetrate to change the colour of the wood. After the sealant is removed, you need to put on a pair of gloves, prepare a cloth and start staining the wood.

Go along the wood fibre until the surface looks one even colour. If some areas are brighter or darker, go over it one more time. Remove any excess stain from the surface and be sure to apply the same pressure all over the surface for even distribution. 3-8 hours later the wood stain will be fully dry and ready for sealing. You can use a two pack water based floor lacquer or a solvent finish.

Tobacco Wood Stain - Coverage

All Tover wood stains are designed to have a high coverage area but the final coverage area will depend on your skill and the type of surface being stained. Softwood will absorb twice as much stain as hardwood. The way you apply the wood stain can also increase or decrease the coverage area. When applied with a floor buffer and a white pad, you can achieve over 50 sq meters per 1L.
