Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | Why Use It
You can apply the lacquer directly on the wood without a primer but that will cause a number of other issues. By priming the wood surface with 1 coat of the new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer you will seal the pores of the wood, you will reduce the lacquer absorption and you will speed up the drying process. A hardwood floor that is not primed is likely to absorb much more lacquer than needed and it could take very long to dry. The new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer has no colour at all, it does not create artificial glazing and it is very eco-friendly. A safe and highly effective wood primer from Chimiver.
Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | Where To Use It
The new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer is compatible with all unsealed hardwood floors and any other unsealed wood surface. The product is compatible with all indoor surfaces. Safe to apply on all vertical and horizontal surfaces. There is no need to dilute the product, there is no need for special training and there is no need to use expensive tools. To be applied in one coat system over a clean, dry and unsealed wood surface.
Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | How To Use It
For a professional water based wood primer to work well you will need to make sure that the wood surface is 100% sealant free, clean and dry. For the sealant to work, it has to fully penetrate the wood and harden up inside the wood. So if the wood has imperfections or old sealer residue, start by removing all these imperfections by sanding it. Follow step by step the sanding paper grit (40, 60, 80 & finish with 100 grit sanding paper).
Bear in mind that the estimated coverage area of 10L per 1L is “estimated” only. It can cover much more or much less, depending on how well the floor is sanded. So to make sure that you have enough product for the whole project buy a bit of extra product.
Using a small varnishing brush apply one thick coat of wood primer around all the narrow corners and around the edges. Use a varnishing roller for the larger floor areas.
Allow 1-2 hours to dry (depending on the ventilation) and proceed to re-sand the whole floor one more time with 180 grit sanding paper. Vacuum well and you can start applying coats of sealer
***Remember, the new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer is not a floor lacquer but a primer. It has to be overcoated with a single pack or a two pack floor lacquer***
Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer Recommendation
Do not just apply the wood primer over any wood surface. The floor has to be sanded, dust free and dry. Do not mix up the primer with any other products from any other brands. Do not allow the product to puddle up on the floor while applying the primer. Do not walk on the floor while the primer is drying and do not re-sand the floor while the primer is drying. The product has no colour and it will not alter the original look of the wood. Keep the product away from direct sunlight. Store the product in a cool and safe place away from children.
