Polishing Your Surfaces With Faber Universal Glossy

They are beautiful, strong, and renowned for their endurance. Natural stone surfaces work well in virtually every room, from the backsplashes in the kitchen and tiles in the bathrooms, to the walls and floors of the entire building. In fact, their elegance and durability have seen them serve in both indoor and outdoor installations. Natural stone is a creation of the earth, and every tile is guaranteed to be unique from others. There is such a wide variety of designs, patterns and colours, that you can easily find the one that suitably matches your style and brings out your personality. Granite, slate, limestone, marble and sandstone- the structures also vary depending on the composition. Then there is that cool feel. Even on those warm days, the natural stone surfaces tend to remain cool to the touch. Moreover, the installations add to the value of the property, whether it’s for apartments and homes to be rented out, or office and retail space. That lavish look and luxurious feel are worth every extra penny. After spending all that time and resources getting the installation for your establishment, you want to protect and enjoy it. As such, regular care is needed, which is why Faber has provided a wide range of solutions to meet your particular needs. The Faber Universal Glossy comes in when polishing is required.

You want your floors and countertops to maintain that sleek, elegant look. One that accentuates the interior space, sprucing up your living and working conditions, and also impressing visitors the moment they walk through the front door. Even in commercial establishments, you want to give the customers coming to purchase your products and services a positive look about your enterprise, showing that you’re keen on maintaining a professional image. Proper surface care is integral to all this. Natural stone surfaces, despite all that glamour and clamour for them, are not invincible. That natural look and feel are not permanent. Due to daily wear, they tend to lose their attractiveness. This does not mean that it’s an outcome that’s set in stone- pun intended. Adding a shine to the surfaces gives them the appearance of being newly installed, and that’s where polishing agents like the Faber Universal Glossy come in. They revitalise the surface, breathing new life into your installation.

Bringing the charm to your installation

This specialised formulation allows you to set a bright and vitreous effect to your surfaces. It transforms a dull and dilapidated installation, giving it a dazzling appeal that simply cannot go unnoticed. In fact, it is so versatile that it’s applicable on ceramics, limestone, travertine and even quartz materials. Whether you’re working on marble or granite surfaces, you will get a consistent effect. With each litre of product being able to be used to polish 50 to 70 m2 of surface, you get optimal coverage. Added to the budget-friendly price tag, you will be able to carry out your establishment’s surface care program without punching a hole through your wallet.

It’s not just about the aesthetic appeal. With the Faber Universal Glossy, you get to enhance the durability of the surface. Attributes such as resistance to foot traffic are given a boost, to enable the polished area to look elegant for longer. Since it also prevents dirt from getting into the material, and provides protection from future spills, this makes subsequent cleaning easier.

With Faber, you are assured of getting a quality product. Since its founding in Italy’s Fabriano (Ancona) in 1986, the company has grown in leaps and bounds, and now serves customers across the EU, deep within the Middle East, all the way to China, Russia and other Asian countries. They have a wide range of products in their offing, from the treatments that are formulated to protect the material from the rising moisture within the building’s structure, ward off the dirt and prevent stains from forming, products that penetrate the material while still maintaining the breathability of the structure, routine cleaning products and those that are brought out when handling tough and built-up grime, stain removers that tackle the water-based stains like wine, tea, soft drinks and ink, to the oil-based spots like cooking oil, greasy foods plus bituminous residue, and even mastics and epoxy systems that repair the damaged surfaces, and also fill the grout widths that are between the single stone tiles and sheets. The Faber Universal Glossy is part of this range of products, and delivers the expected performance when applied on the surfaces. It’s a brand you can rely on, that has even achieved certifications of quality such as ISO: 9001:2008, issued by Certiquality. This is while still maintaining a low impact on the environment, going forth to earn the ISO: 14001:2004, where a company’s organisation and processes are assessed on their adherence to environmental safety and sustainability. It even has Green Building Council Italia membership, and a founding member of the Marche Chapter of the council.

How to Use The Faber Universal Glossy

A good workman is his tools. The first step towards successfully completing your polishing task is getting the right equipment. For this case, you can use a manual rotary brush, or a 2HP or 2.2HP (preferred) single disc machine. These are the likes of the Warrior single disc machine from Faber. Also carry out a spot test on the surface you’ll be working on, albeit on a not-so-conspicuous section. This is especially for the cases where you’re unsure of product compatibility. Once you’re ready, proceed:

  1. Divide the area into manageable sections. For instance, you can work on 1-2 m2 of surface at a time.
  2. Apply 2 teaspoons of the Faber Universal Glossy onto the surface.
  3. Dry-buff the section using your floor machine which a white pad has been attached. Work in concentric motion. This should be done until the surface is dry.
  4. In case you want to achieve a higher level of brightness, or are aiming for superficial closing, you can apply more product and repeat the buffing as needed.
  5. Vacuum the surface to pick up any residue.
  6. Rinse the area with clean water.

After the surface dries, it will be ready to use.
