Faber YS One Non Slip Treatment

RS 10 Anti Slip Protection Guaranteed By Faber YS One Non Slip Treatment

Hard flooring, such as ceramic tiles and siliceous stone, can be slippery when wet, leading to slip and fall accidents that may result in injuries. Non-slip treatments are essential for safety, but not all products are effective or safe; for example, acid-based treatments can etch tiles, making them more prone to staining and deterioration. High-traffic areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and commercial spaces require careful treatment to ensure safety without damaging the floor. Faber YS One offers a quality solution that protects installations while maintaining their integrity.

Faber is a leading brand in surface care, offering a wide range of products suitable for various users, including builders, contractors, tilers, cleaning companies, and DIY homeowners. Their offerings include professional lines, showroom formulations, and options for home users. Faber has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality and ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management, reflecting their commitment to high standards. The brand’s global reach and the YS One product further demonstrate their ability to effectively address slip conditions in both residential and commercial settings.

Benefits Of The Faber YS One

Increase grip

With the Faber YS One, you get to enhance the non-slip attributes of troublesome floors like ceramics and siliceous stone surfaces, even in wet conditions. Whether you have footwear or are barefoot, you get to walk around with confidence. This is beneficial across the scope, from homes with toddlers and the elderly who are at a higher risk of fall accidents, to commercial establishments where you want to protect your employees and customers walking about. The Faber YS One acts directly on the floor, forming micro erosions that even increase run-off of water that lands on the surface. It does this without changing features like the colouration of the material.

Water-based

The formulation of the Faber YS One enables it to be used on multiple surfaces, from the ceramic and porcelain stoneware, to molten basalt quartz-resin, granite plus clinker surfaces. It does not form a film on the floor, and is a long lasting treatment. You get to have enhanced grip on the surfaces for longer. With a 10 – 20m2 per litre application rate, each unit of the Faber YS One gets to be used to treat a large surface, enabling you to boost the non-slip properties of the floors in your establishment without draining your bank account.

Fast application

Using the Faber YS One is easy and straightforward. Simply apply a layer of product on the surface, and leave it for the suitable contact time depending on your particular type of installation. Tools that can be used for the application vary, ranging from brushes and lambswool applicators to rollers. Thereafter, remove the residue, then rinse, allow to dry, and you’re done. You can let foot traffic back onto the floor. When it comes to removing the residue, it is important to start in the order in which the product was applied, and take the same amount of time, to ensure that there has been uniform contact time on the whole surface.

Contact time for surface treatment varies based on the material’s composition and hardness, necessitating a preliminary test on an unused piece or hidden area. After rinsing, assess the non-slip quality manually by comparing grip with an untreated section. For ceramics and stoneware, contact time is 10 to 40 minutes, while clinker and quartz surfaces require 30 to 60 minutes, and granite floors may need up to 90 minutes.

DOs And DON’Ts Of The Faber YS One

DO clean the floor before applying the treatment. You don’t want gunk getting trapped under the product, as it will affect the quality of the results.

DON’T dilute the product. It has been formulated to be ready to use.

DO partition that area that you’re working on. Treating small sections at a time will enable you to ensure that you evenly apply the product.

DON’T use the product on lime-based surfaces.

DO strip off the wax and other treatments that are on the surface to enable the Faber YS One to get into direct contact with the floor for optimal non-slip properties.

DON’T treat the surface when it is exposed to direct sunlight.

DO ensure that the surface being worked on remains covered with an even layer of the product. Towards this end, you may need to add more onto the surface and distribute it occasionally.

DON’T apply the product on wet surfaces. Let them dry first.

DO apply the Faber YS One during the cooler parts of the day. Ideally, the surface temperature of the floor being treated should be between 5 and 40°C.
