Working On Your Windows With The Ettore Master Stainless Steel Handle
When scouting for the right squeegee to purchase for your window cleaning needs, different factors come into consideration. First is the functionality of the tool itself. Does it expedite the cleaning process, or will it slow you down and increase your fatigue? This focuses on the design features of the unit, from the rubber blade and channels, to the handle itself. Their weight, ergonomic nature – or lack thereof, all have an impact on how easy it will be to use the squeegee. Next is the durability. The material that the squeegee has been constructed with plays an integral role in determining how long it will last. Each of the component parts has their lifetime. The rubber blades, for instance, will be replaced much more frequently, hence the need to have a spare set around. After all, it’s where most of the cleaning action occurs, resulting in the increased rates of wear. For the channel and the handle, you want tools that have a strong build, that will enable them to last through multiple cleaning sessions. Aspects such as corrosion resistance also factor in, given that most channels and handles are made of metal, and you don’t want your unit rusting- which would result in structural failure of the product. The brand behind the products is also a key consideration, in which case you want to deal with one that has a track record of performance. With Ettore, you get that and much more. It has been in the window cleaning industry from the 1930s, and over the decades has morphed into an industrial leader trusted by professional window cleaners, DIY-enthusiasts and homeowners alike. With loads of investment going into R&D, strict quality control, and high reliability of the products, it has made a name for itself, hence the wide market share and continued trust in its window cleaning tools. The Ettore Master Stainless Steel Handle in focus here is part of the line of products, and designed to make the squeegeeing process easy and effective.
Part Of The Master™ Stainless Steel Squeegee
The complete unit gives you enhanced cleaning power. Each individual channel used with this range of squeegees has been hand-inspected to ascertain high quality standards. The corrosion resistance of the structure, which also includes the Ettore Master Stainless Steel Handle, means that you won’t have to worry about the unit rusting during use. The extended lifespan of each individual component part gives you more value for your purchase. This is also attributed to the durable nature of the material, which enables the squeegee to handle the demand that comes with the frequent tasks, especially for the professional window cleaners who cater to installations in both residential, commercial and industrial setups, where you want tools that can provide you with prolonged usage in order to save on operational costs.
The squeegeeing process itself is a breeze. Follow these steps:
Washing phase
Certainly, first the windows need to receive a good scrub. Here, you want to work with a detergent that has been developed for use on windows, and a good quality washer. Prepare the cleaning solution by mixing the detergent with water. Not much is required- the resultant solution just needs to feel a bit slippery. Dip the washer into the solution, and wring it out. Wash the window in circular motions. Washers with scrubber ends will be ideal for that extra cleaning power. However, there will be cases where you encounter really stubborn material- like stickers, paint, or concrete residue on the windows. Here, bring out your scraper. Note that the scraping should only be done when the windows are wet. With the grime dislodged, you can move onto the next phase.
Squeegeeing the windows
Begin by creating a dry area around the windows. You can use a cloth or a squeegee. Basically, a thin border around the window- like 2 cm wide, is made. This will be the point from which you start the squeegee strokes. This is recommended in order to prevent “window crying ”, which is basically water moving from the frames onto the sections of the window that have already been squeezed.
Place the blade of the Master™ Stainless Steel Squeegee on this dry zone, and glide it over the wet area. Dry the blade with a cloth before each stroke. Move down the window in overlapping strokes. Ensure you have a firm grip on the Ettore Master Stainless Steel Handle. This will be enhanced by the rubberised grip, which gives you more control over the tool as you go about the task. It also makes the squeegee comfortable to work with, reducing your fatigue. Since the handle is light, it will be easy on your hands, and you will be able to focus your energy on actually getting the window clean. You don’t have to use all your muscles here. Simply placing the blade on the window will provide the pressure needed to get the task done.
When it comes to working on the windows on the upper floors, you don’t have to struggle with using a ladder, or spend loads of time setting up suspension systems. The Ettore Master Stainless Steel Handle can be used with extension poles. Simply attach the handle to the preferred pole, ensure that it has securely fit, and proceed with the task. This gives you the flexibility of working from the ground, and also enables you to move from one window to the next in moments. It also has the welcome benefit of providing more privacy for your clients, since the bedrooms tend to be on the upper floors, and your clients will not have to keep being wary of a face popping up outside the window. With this approach, you also avoid the risk of fall accidents that are common when one works with ladders- and in fact, they are a common problem in the window care industry. From a management point of view, there will be fewer work hours lost since your cleaning crew will have safe working conditions, and less expenses will go into footing injury claims, bringing relief to your budget.
