Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer I Where to use
Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer can be used to seal and protect all semi solid and hardwood floors. Also suitable for sealing furniture but there are cheaper varnishes more suitable for woodworks.The product will provide years of protection even on floors with daily high traffic. Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer is the ideal floor finish for restaurant floors, shops, pubs, restaurants, sport rooms, schools, GYMs, etc. With the right maintenance, it will provide full protection for up to 10 years.
Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer I How to use
If you are planning to seal old wood floors, you will need to sand the surface and have the wood surface sealant free. If you are planning to seal new wood floors, no initial sanding is required. You can apply a colour to the floor before varnishing. Bona Craft Oil is compatible with Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer and there is a wide range of colours available. After the oil (if required) is dried, you can proceed to apply the first coat of lacquer. Use a small brush to varnish around the edges and a varnishing roller for the rest of the floor.
*** mix up the hardener with the lacquer before use. Only mix what you are likely to use within 4 hours. After 4 hours, the mixture becomes rock hard even inside the bottle and it cannot be used ***
Apply a thin coat all over the floor. Do not over soak the floor. The wood will absorb whatever it needs and you need to remove the excess. Go with the fiber of the woof not against it. After you are done, wash the brushes and the rolls and wait 2 hours.
2 hours later you will need to sand the floor with fine sandpaper 120 to 180 grit. Remove the dust and apply 1 more coat of Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer. Job done. You can walk on the floor within 2 hours but the floor will require 12 hours of drying before heavy duty traffic.
Bona Traffic HD Floor Lacquer I Gloss levels
This amazing water based floor lacquer is available in extra matt, matt or semi gloss finishes. It all depends on what type of finish you prefer. The level of gloss does not affect the durability. Semi gloss finishes are by far the most popular. Matt finishes are only recommended for “fancy” wood floors.
