Faber No Oil & Grease Remover 500ml
Those oil stains dotting the surfaces in your home or workplace ruin the ambience. From the greasy smudges in on the kitchen countertops to the cosmetics that got spilled on the living room floor as you were touching up your makeup- they create stains that defy the normal cleaning agents. Then there are those situations where you’re changing the engine oil of your car, or the oil on the lawnmower. Some of it misses the catch pan, and suddenly there is a humongous spot on the driveway or even garage. Isn’t it frustrating how fast oil spreads when it is staining a surface? First things first: soak up as much of the oil as possible. A strong cleaner will then be needed. What of the stains that were left to set in the material? Over time, the oil forms a strong bond with the structure, and a powerful agent is needed to get rid of the resultant stain. However, it’s not just about getting a concentrated cleaner and sloshing it over the surface. The safety of the material comes into play. You want to use a product that will extract the stain without putting the structural integrity of the underlying material at risk. One that will effectively deliver on its mandate without corroding the stone or damaging its protective treatment. You can get that with the Faber No Oil & Grease Remover.

How To Use The Faber No Oil & Grease Remover 500ml
Start by preparing the surface. Here, you just need to clean it to remove the dust and dirt that is on it. After all, you want the Faber No Oil & Grease Remover to target the stains themselves, not the loose grit that can simply be vacuumed off. In case there are wax treatments on the installation, first remove them using the double stripping process. Let the surface dry, then apply with these steps:
Shake the product well in its container.
Pour it directly onto the target area in a thick layer. You can also use a brush or spatula to apply it onto the surface.
Allow the product to act on the stain until a white powdery residue is formed. This should take a maximum of 1 to 2 hours.
Remove the residue. For the porous surfaces, you can simply sweep it off using a brush with soft bristles. Those that are really porous- like sandstone and cotto, you may need to bring out your vacuum cleaner, or clean off the residue with a detergent such as the Faber Deterfug that will extract it out of the material. For the compact and non-absorbent surfaces you can do with an absorbent cloth, mop or towel.
Wiping a section using a mop or cloth that is slightly damp, then observing the results will enable you to assess the effectiveness of the process.
Rinse with clean water, and allow the area to dry.
Since you want to create an aesthetically appealing result, you can apply the Faber No Oil & Grease Remover onto the adjacent sections of the surface, that way you have an even outcome. This is as opposed to simply focusing on the stained section. You may opt to work on the entire tile or the whole room.
Tips For Using The Faber No Oil & Grease Remover
Ensure that the surface onto which you apply the product is completely dry. At most, it should just be slightly damp.
Is it about to rain or frost? Then wait it out before applying the Faber No Oil & Grease Remover. The same case applies when there is mist.
It is recommended that you apply the product on those cooler times of the day. In addition, the area being treated should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
When extracting the residue formed on the very porous surfaces, you can also carry out a pressure washing.
Apply a stain-proofing treatment onto the surface to protect it.
