Why Use It
The new Faber Hidrofab Matt is the newest arrival within the Faber range. Up to now, our customers had two options, a glossy Hidrofab and a satin Hidrofab. The new Faber Hidrofab Matt fully completes the range with a cool matt finish that really maintains the natural aspect of the stone while waterproofing, stain proofing and creating a great barrier against day to day traffic. This high traffic emulsion of waxes is compatible with a wide range of surfaces and it can be applied by anyone that has access to a flat mopping system. It does not yellow, it does not peel, it is very hard to scratch and it slightly enhances the look of the stone. There is little wonder why the new Faber Hidrofab Matt has become a customer favourite so fast.
Where To Use It
The incredible Faber Hidrofab Matt is a multi use emulsion wax polish that is compatible with all types of natural stone surfaces and some other surfaces. The product can be used indoors only. Suitable to use as the main sealer for floors and all vertical surfaces as well. It allows full ventilation and it enhances the original look of the stone. The product can be successfully used to seal residential and high traffic commercial floors. Responds very well to burnishing with high speed floor pads.
How To Use It
All surfaces should be deep cleaned with a proper heavy duty floor cleaner to fully remove all types of ingrained residue from the pores, grease, fat and superficial stains. Any dirt that is left on the floor will become even more visible after the surface is sealed with the new Faber Hidrofab Matt. While the product will slightly glaze the surface, it has no sheen at all.
Cleaning
Deep clean the entire surface with Faber 30, Faber Cottosolv or Faber Deterfug. Scrub it nicely with a soft brush or a good scrubbing pad and then extract all the waste with a wet vacuum. Allow it to fully dry and then proceed to the next steps.
Polishing
To achieve a streak free finish and to prevent over polishing some areas and under polishing other areas, please use a flat mopping system. Pour some Faber Hidrofab Matt directly on the floor and then use the flat mop to spread it evenly all over the surface. Reach in all the corners and avoid oversoaking the surface. The floor has to look evenly wet but not soaked. Allow it to dry for 2-3 hours and then either apply a second coat or burnish it with a high speed floor buffer and a white pad.
Maintenance
The proper maintenance is very important. The sealer is likely to react with any bleach based or high PH floor cleaner. Use the new Faber Algafloor or Faber Neugel for daily cleaning and maintenance. If possible, buff the surface once in a while.
Our Recommendation
Do not polish wet or dirty surfaces. Do not over polish the surfaces. Do not mix up the new Faber Hidrofab Matt with any other water based floor polishes from Faber or other brands. Do not use the new Faber Hidrofab Matt for outdoor polishing projects. Apply the second coat only after the first coat has dried in full. Do not walk on the wet floor to prevent permanent markings.
Safety
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidelines before use. Wear a mask if you are working in areas with little or no ventilation. Wear suitable protective gloves. Store in a cool, dry place safely out of reach of children.
