Protect Your Surfaces With The Faber AS 930

Stain-proofing is a core part of surface care. Food and drink spills, the occasional ink blot and nail-polish accidents, oils and grease- when they wind up on the floors, they form spots that ruin the appeal of the installation. These stick out prominently, and will be one of the first things a person notices when they walk into the room. There isn’t a 100% effective means of preventing spills from ever occurring, so the next step is reducing their intensity and protecting the floor itself. Stain-proofing treatments come in to form a layer that keeps the spills from seeping into the structure. By keeping the liquids from penetrating your natural stone worktops, walls and floors, one can them simply blot up or mop away the spill without much hustle. However, not all products are the same. The market is flooded with them, and you want to be sure that you’re using a formulation that will deliver on its mandate without damaging the installation in the process. Marble, granite and other natural stone materials are highly sensitive to the chemical composition of the agents used on them, and you don’t want to ruin your investment. After all, they are pricey to install in the first place. Issues like corrosion and discolouration will compound your problem. Turn to the Faber AS 930 to take care of your needs.

With Faber, you can rest assured that you’re getting a quality return for your purchase. The entire business of the company revolves around surface care. This is a brand that is trusted by professional installers and cleaners, builders and architects, natural stone suppliers and the marble processing companies, all through to DIY enthusiasts, with high demand for their products all across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. You can also be one of their satisfied customers when you incorporate the Faber AS 930 into your building’s maintenance program.

Long Lasting Treatment

With the Faber AS 930, you get to make that natural look of the natural stones more pronounced. This includes attributes like its colouration, plus the veins in the structure. What’s more, the formulation provides that desirable wet-look, which enhances the decor in both homes and business environments. You can use it to obtain this effect in cleft, rough or antiqued natural stone- these include slate, sandstone, granite and marble plus its marble-cement agglomerate, exposed brickwork, reconstituted (eco) stone, concrete, cementina, to cotto, porphyry, and even travertine; or the absorbent artificial installations with rough and textured finishes. Note that this formulation is not suitable for surfaces that have low absorption, and those which are really compact.

You want your floors to look good for long, and the formulation of the Faber AS 930 takes that into account. For starters, it brings stain resistance on board. That layer of protection keeps stains from getting adhered to the underlying surface, allowing you to easily clean them off. Speaking of which, surfaces treated with the Faber AS 930 can be cleaned using products like the Neugel, from the same brand. The coat also wards off the dirt, further reducing your workload and the amount of resources required for the routine cleaning. Then there is the foot traffic which is one of the largest causes of wear for flooring. Here, the ultra-hard Faber AS 930 layer that is applied enables the underlying stone structure to withstand foot traffic, thus prolonging the life of your installation. What’s more, the finish that is obtained doesn’t yellow, that way you can enjoy that elegant look and feel for longer.

Straightforward application

When it comes to treating your floor with the Faber AS 930, the process is easy. Tools that can be used include brushes and rollers. You can also work with a lambswool applicator. The equipment employed depends on what you find to be most effective for your particular situation. This solvent-based formulation is spread evenly on the surface. You just need to apply a light coat. Ideally, every litre can be used on 15 to 20m² of surface. Let the treatment dry. Here, the levels of shine may vary in the course of the drying. There’s no reason to panic. This is attributed to the varying degrees of absorption since the sections were not all worked on at the same time. After 45 minutes, the applied coat will have dried, while the curing itself will take 4-6 hours.

With regards to the conditions of application, the temperature of the surface should be between 5 and 40°C. In addition, when there are high humidity levels, it’s about to rain, frost, and those cases where it’s misty, you can put off the treatment to a later time. This is to ensure that it gets to cure properly. In addition, in case the surface being worked on has recently been primed, such as with a high-penetrant water repellent, allow the latter first to dry before applying the stain-proofing treatment.

DOs And DON’Ts Of The Faber AS 930

  • DO give the surface that you’re working on a comprehensive clean before applying the treatment.
  • DO wash the tools used with white spirit before storage.
  • DON’T try to re-touch or even out the product during the drying. This will negatively affect the uniformity. Let it completely cure then assess the results. After that the process can be repeated if needed.
