Wax And Grease Removal With Faber Alkaline Cleaner

Wax And Grease Removal With Faber Alkaline Cleaner

When it comes to cleaning, you want to match the detergent used to the kind of dirt and grime being handled. Those stubborn grease stains or oxidation marks are simply out of the league of conventional cleaners, and need powerful formulations to tackle them. On the other hand, when carrying out renovation projects – where you want to have a fresh new wax treatment applied to spruce up the space, the existing finish needs to be completely removed. This is to allow the new layers that will be applied to bond directly with the bare surface, for stronger results. The Faber Alkaline Cleaner comes on board as the formulation to turn to when handling tough greasy residue, all through to wax stripping. Here, we will go over what you can expect for this formulation, and the steps to take to ensure you get optimal results during application.

Value Of The Faber Alkaline Cleaner

  • Deep cleaning action

This alkaline detergent readily breaks down the organic residue that is common when there have been issues like algae growths on the surfaces. This kind of residue is usually difficult to deal with when working with conventional household cleaners, instead requiring more of a punch – and that’s what the Faber Alkaline Cleaner brings on board. You can use it to get rid of dark marks on the surface, those spots that are formed due to oxidation processes, and its effectiveness also kicks in when stripping away old wax from the surfaces – such as when you’re carrying out a refinishing project.

Greasy dirt is also a thorn in the flesh of property owners. Whether it is from cooking oil on kitchen surfaces at home, splatters from the fryers in commercial kitchens, engine oil out in the parking lot or garage floor – such kinds of grime can be difficult to remove. Moreover, they easily trap more dirt within them, increasing the rate of soiling. These patches of dirt create unhygienic environments, and are also an eyesore. This detergent kicks in to deliver deep cleaning that gets rid of the greasy residue, restoring the elegant aura to the space. For the cleaning tasks, it will carry out the job with its own chemical action, while for double wax stripping the Faber Alkaline Cleaner is used together with the Solvent Stripper, also from the same brand.

The Faber Alkaline Cleaner also proves to be effective in solving issues in industrial processes in order to yield tiles that meet the aesthetic needs of the end-user. For instance, when ceramic tiles are being prepared and moved through the production line, suction cup marks typically remain on the surfaces. The Alkaline Cleaner comes in to remove these marks, that way the tiles will be ready for packaging in the desired condition.

  • Proven Quality

The Alkaline Cleaner is part of the Faber Showroom line of products, which combines the efficiency of solutions targeting professional contractors, with the requirements of the everyday individual looking to handle their surface care needs by themselves. Products in this line are high-performance agents, that are still easy to apply – and have consequently become common recommendations by tile manufacturers to the buyers of their products. These include stain removers that deal with grease, oil, rust, ink, and other kinds of troublesome stains, a stone sealer and impregnating agents that are key in providing protection from water-based and oil-based stains, polishes and abrasives that deal with blemishes on the surface and restore it to a shiny finish, as well as cleaners that are used for everything from daily care and worksite cleaning, to extraordinary maintenance when you’re dealing with the particularly troublesome and heavy duty soiling.

The brand itself is a household name, having been in the surface care industry since 1986, and is trusted by retailers of building materials, installers and tilers, contractors carrying out cleaning or repair services right through to DIY enthusiasts. With a strict emphasis on quality, the brand has attained ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification standards, and is also a member of bodies like the Green Building Council Italia -for both Italy and Singapore, to the ISSA, the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association bringing together operators in the surface care industry.

  • Comes ready to use

For the cleaning task, you can use the alkaline detergent as is. Usually, simply diluting it with water will be enough, while for the stubborn cases you can use it undiluted. When mixing with water, use a 1:4 ratio. When it comes to getting rid of suction cup marks though, you can use a 1:1 dilution ratio.

As mentioned, the Faber Alkaline Cleaner is also suitable for stripping wax, in this case working in conjunction with the Solvent Stripper. Here, the solvent Stripper is first applied onto the surface, allowed 5 to 10 minutes of dwell time, and then the Faber Alkaline Cleaner follows.

The coverage rate of the product will depend on how much it has been diluted. Generally, 1L of the detergent will be enough for 10 to 15m² of surface. Different tools can be used for the application, such as working with a cloth on small areas, a mop for average size floors, or a single disc chine for commercial spaces where you have much more expansive areas that need to be attended to.

DOs And DON’Ts Of Using The Faber Alkaline Cleaner

  • DO clear away the loose dirt before washing the surface with the detergent. Sweep or vacuum away the dust, debris and other particulate matter that is on the surface. This leaves behind stubborn residue and marks, which will be dissolved by the Faber Alkaline Cleaner.

  • DO test out the product on an inconspicuous area if you’re not sure whether or not the formulation will be suitable for your particular kind of floor.

  • DO allow recently laid or grouted surfaces to first dry and cure before using the cleaner on them.

  • DON’T mix the Faber Alkaline Cleaner with other chemicals unless it has been expressly stated.

  • DON’T use the detergent on wet surfaces.
