From granite, limestone, quartzite, travertine and terracotta, to slate, cementina and porphyry installations, the Faber MA 90 will be up to the task. Note that it shouldn’t be used on surfaces that have been polished. This product has been specifically developed for the non-polished installations.

How To Use The Faber MA 90

First thing’s first: Clean the surface. The dirt and grime on it is a threat to the success of the task. Dust, pet dander, grease spots, and oil build-ups getting trapped under the Faber MA 90 treatment will ruin the quality of the results. After cleaning the surface, allow it to dry. Once ready, proceed with these steps:

Use a roller, brush, or lambswool applicator to apply the Faber MA 90 onto the surface. Apply it abundantly, spreading it evenly over the whole surface.
Give the coat 5 to 10 minutes of dwelling time, for it to be absorbed by the material.
Distribute the excess product that is on the surface. Ensure that you achieve a uniform application, continuing with the redistribution until there is a homogenous result. This step may not be necessary if the Faber MA 90 is being applied onto a highly absorbent surface, since the product applied will have already penetrated into the stone.
Let the surface dry- this can take between 1 and 2 hours.
In case you want to buff up the surface, wait for at least 4-6 hours after application. You can polish it with a standard floor polisher, rated at 1.5HP, and setting it to at least 175 rpm. Attach a white or lambswool disc onto the polisher. A wool-cotton attachment will also suffice. Proceed to polish the surface until you obtain the desired effect. For the vertical surfaces, small sections that a standard floor polisher won’t be feasible, you can use an orbital or manual wheel. Here, attach a white disc or pad to it.

Foot traffic can be allowed back onto the floor 4 to 6 hours after the Faber MA 90 has been applied.

Maintaining floors treated with the Faber MA 90

Routine cleaning will be needed, to retain that polished effect, and keep the surface elegant. Here, you can use Faber Neugel, as it is compatible with the MA 90 treatment. Faber 30 and Deterfug can also be used, depending on the level of soiling involved, and the type of surface being attended to. When the time comes to dewax the surface, you can use Faber Dec 21 or the Decera P.

DOs And DON’Ts Of The Faber MA 90

DO wait for previous treatments – such as water repellent primers that had been applied to the surface, to first dry before you add the Faber MA 90 onto it.
DO wait for rain, frost, mist, fog and other moments where there are high humidity levels to pass before applying the product.
DON’T apply the Faber MA 90 onto the surface while it is wet. Always ensure that it has dried after cleaning it.
