Why Use It
The incredible Tover Belle Epoque is a professional wood dye that unlike the classic wood stains, will sink inside the wood, it will oxidize the fiber of the wood and it will create a rich aged finish on brand new floors. The product is easy to apply, it does not require expensive or professional equipment and the drying time will match the drying time of most water based floor lacquers. Its main advantage is that it can be overcoated with a floor oil or it can be sealed with Tover Fondo Isolante and then finished with any water based floor lacquer. The process of refinishing or creating aged finishes is much faster and easier to do.
Where To Use
The new Tover Belle Epoque is a professional quality wood dye that can be used to seal, enhance and create unique colours on pretty much any type of new or newly sanded wooden surfaces. The product is ready to use and it does not require any dilution. It can be used to treat all kinds of engineered or hardwood floors, wood furniture, wood frames, wood doors, wood panels. It can also be used for treating outdoor surfaces but the top layer has to be outdoor compatible.
How To Use
Before proceeding to treat any type of real wood surface, the user has to make sure that the wood surface is dry, clean and sealant free. All pre-existing finishes will need to be fully removed and the wood surface has to be finished with 100 grit sandpaper. The applicator has to make sure that there is enough product to cover the entire surface. A varnishing brush, a roller and a few clean cloths are the most basic tools needed before applying the new Tover Belle Epoque to the surface.
- Vacuum the entire surface to make sure that there is no dust or any type of surface residue on the wooden surface. Anything on the surface will prevent the product from fully penetrating the wood and disrupt the oxidation process.
- Use a small varnishing brush to apply the product around the edges and the areas where the large varnishing brush cannot fit. For the larger areas use the varnishing roller. Apply enough product to cover the entire surface with an even coat of the product without oversoaking the surface. Any missed patches can be repaired at a later stage once the surface has dried.
- The estimated drying period is about 1 hour and it can be overcoated with a floor oil or a floor lacquer. The best way of applying a hardwax oil is with a floor buffer. If a water based or a solvent based floor lacquer is preferred as a sealer, the surface has to be overcoated with 1 coat of Tover Fondo Isolante first and then the lacquer can be applied over it.
- The floor should be fully dried for at least 12 hours before being opened up to the normal traffic conditions.
Our Recommendations

It will exfoliate. Do not mix up colours. This product has no protective qualities, it is a colour dye only. Do not apply it on wooden surfaces that are exposed to direct sunlight or on floors with the underfloor heating on.
