The new Junckers MT500 Floor Lacquer is a top quality medium traffic water based floor lacquer that can be used to seal and protect all kinds of residential hardwood floors and medium traffic commercial floors. It can also be used to seal and protect wood furniture, doors, frames, etc. Its non yellowing formula and amazingly low VOC, has made Junckers MT500 Floor Lacquer a very popular and widely used product within the DIY market as well. A product suitable for all kinds of indoor uses. While designed for use on all kinds of Junckers hardwood floors, it can be successfully used to seal and protect most types of engineered and hardwood floors.
How To Use
The new Junckers MT500 Floor Lacquer is a water based floor sealer compatible with all types of solvent or water based floor primers from Junckers, Bona, Tover and Chimiver. The surface has to be sealant free, clean, dry and even looking. This is a single pack water based floor lacquer and is not compatible with oil based wood stains. The product can also be used to overcoat pre-existing water based and solvent based floor finishes that are still in a good shape but in need of some love.
- Sand up the entire surface with all needed sanding grits up to about 100 grit as the last sanding. Vacuum the entire area well a number of times to remove even the finest grain of dust.
- Prime the floor a few hours ahead and make sure that the surface is 100% dry before the lacquer is applied.
- Use a small varnishing brush to apply the new Junckers MT500 Floor Lacquer around the edges and all the areas where the varnishing roller cannot fit. Use a good quality varnishing brush to varnish the larger areas.
- Allow the first coat to dry for a few hours before preparing for the second coat. Check out the entire area and if rough patches are visible, re-sand the surface with very fine sanding discs (grit 150-220), vacuum well again and do the final coat. More coats are possible but not necessary.
Our Recommendations
This product is suitable for medium traffic hardwood floors. Do not apply the lacquer over stained, damaged or dirty surfaces. Only apply the second coat after the first coat is fully dry. Do not mix up the incredible Junckers MT500 Floor Lacquer with other water based or solvent based floor lacquers. This product is only suitable for indoor use. Regular maintenance with refreshers is highly recommended. Only wash the floor with proper wood floor cleaners and as little water as possible. Use the lacquer within 12 months after the bottle was unsealed.
