Straightforward application

The process is easy. Start by cleaning the surface, in order to get rid of those dirt particles which would have been trapped under the coat of the Faber SHS Wax. Also allow the surface to dry, since the formulation should not be used on surfaces that are wet. The tools to use vary depending on the particular situation, but the two most common are the lambswool applicator or a roller. Once ready, apply a uniform and abundant coat of the Faber SHS Wax onto the surface. Ensure that you have obtained an even a layer, applied following the same direction. Be careful not to leave behind too much of the wax on a given area. Should you notice any build up, it can be immediately redistributed over the section that you’re working on. In case you have already moved on to a different area and notice a build-up in previous section, then let the layer first dry and cure, before coming back to polish the area and even it out with the rest of the floor.

For those cases where you’re working on a surface that has a high absorbency, or one which is textured, you may be required to add a second coat of the Faber SHS Wax. Here first allow the first one to dry. It’s recommended that you wait for 2 to 3 hours before applying the second coat. Of note is that you should follow a perpendicular direction to the first layer, basically crisscrossing the initial direction used.

As mentioned above, the Faber SHS Wax is self-polishing. This means that even without intervention, it will form a polished effect. However, since aesthetic needs vary from one property owner to the other, there are those who will want to go a step further and increase the level of shine. This can be accomplished using a mechanical floor polisher, onto which a white or lambswool pad has been attached. It is at this point that the build-ups noticed on sections of the surface will be rectified.

You can open the floor to foot traffic 4 to 6 hours after the treatment. The tools that have been used for the process can be cleaned using water.

When the time comes to restore the surface that has been treated with this formulation, you can use the same Faber SHS Wax, but this time diluted in water. Prepare the solution using a 1:5 dilution ratio.

DO protect the areas that are adjacent to the floor being worked on.
DO wait for 3 to 4 hours before polishing the surface to allow the Faber SHS Wax to cure.
DO clean the surface regularly, as part of the routine maintenance. It recommended that you use the Faber Neugel for this.
