Bees wax has been the original wood sealer since ancient times. While the formula has improved a lot over the years, the basics are the same. The bees are still the main suppliers of the raw material and the finished product still looks like it used to look a few thousands years back.
The new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax is a top class natural wax sealer that should be used to seal, waterproof and stain proof all kinds of hardwood and engineered wood surfaces. The product is easy to use, highly concentrated and suitable for sealing all kinds of high traffic and low traffic wooden floors. It can also be used to seal and protect furniture and terracotta floors. It provides a great level of sheen and it is known to last for years.
Chimiver Lios Natural Wax | Where To Use It
The product’s main job is to seal and waterproof all kinds of hardwood floors and real wood surfaces. It fully penetrates the surface and it creates a protective layer of wax a few mm inside the wood. The product can be used as the main wax or it can be used to refresh and rejuvenate already waxed surfaces.
The new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax is highly recommended to be used on all kinds of residential and commercial wooden floors. Its main advantage is the fact that high traffic areas can be individually refreshed or re-sealed without creating a different level of sheen. The new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax is also used by many contractors as a natural terracotta sealer and impregnator.
Chimiver Lios Natural Wax | How To Use It
Surface preparation is essential before applying the new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax. The wood has to be sanded and finished with 120 to 150 grit sanding paper. If the wood is too rough, the wax will be fully absorbed and a lot of wax will be needed to create a good finish while if the wood is too smooth, the wax cannot penetrate at all. So 120-150 grit final sanding is ideal. The product is ready to use and it does not require dilution. It can be applied with a good quality cloth, a white floor pad and a microfiber cloth, a rubber trowel or whatever application system the user is more comfortable with.
- Vacuum the floor to make sure that the surface is dust free, debris free and dry.
- Apply a thin coat of the new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax and let it sink in while removing the excess.
- Allow it to dry for at least 15 minutes and then buff it in with a clean white pad making sure to remove all streaks (if any) and all excess product.
- Apply a second coat after the first coat feels dry when touched. To achieve full protection 2-3 coats are required. Softer woods (pine) will definitely require 3 coats while harder woods (oak, maple, walnut) will look amazing with 2 coats.
- The same application routine is required while sealing terracotta tiles. Assess the results after each coat and only stop after the desired results are achieved.
Chimiver Lios Natural Wax | Recommendations
Do not apply the new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax over varnished wood floors. Do not dilute the product. Do not forget to remove the excess wax from the surface. Do not walk on the surface while it is drying. Do not use the new Chimiver Lios Natural Wax for outdoor sealing projects. Store the product away from the direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
