Faber B1 700 Review
Natural stone and agglomerate installations are highly porous, making them susceptible to water absorption, which leads to staining from various liquids like coffee, wine, and even bodily fluids. The deeper these stains penetrate, the harder they are to remove. Additionally, rising damp and groundwater can cause surface salt deposits and accelerate deterioration due to freeze-and-thaw cycles, leading to costly repairs if not addressed promptly. Oil spills from cosmetics or cooking can further complicate maintenance. To prevent these issues, applying a protective agent like Faber B1 700 is advisable.
Benefits Of The Faber B1 700
-
Protection from stains
Faber B1 700 treatment provides surfaces with hydro-repellent and oleo-repellent properties, preventing water- and oil-based spills from causing permanent stains, thereby preserving their beauty and reducing cleaning efforts. It enhances resistance to dirt and protects the structural integrity of natural stone by preventing absorption of spills that can lead to rising damp and efflorescence issues, ultimately prolonging the installation’s lifespan. Additionally, it can be combined with a water repellent primer for improved effectiveness.
-
Retain the original appearance of the surface
Faber B1 700 offers stain-proofing protection without changing the color or tone of natural stone or terracotta, making it ideal for sensitive agglomerates. It is neutral, resistant to UV radiation, and won’t yellow over time, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, it maintains the breathability of the surface and can be applied to various materials, including limestone, marble, sandstone, and quartz-resin agglomerates.

Fast drying
The Faber B1 700 composition simplifies stain-proofing by requiring just a thin coat applied with a brush, cloth, lambswool applicator, or roller, followed by a 30-minute drying time. It typically leaves no residues, but any slight remnants can be wiped away with a clean, dry cloth. For highly absorbent surfaces, an additional coat may be necessary after the first has dried. Treated floors can be reopened to foot traffic after 2 to 3 hours.
Ensure that the area that you’re working on has been given a good clean, as the dirt and grime are a threat to the effectiveness of the application, since they prevent the product from properly bonding with the structure.
- The areas adjacent to the surface being worked on, which are not being treated, should be covered.
- If a primer has recently been applied, allow it to dry before adding the Faber B1 700 onto the surface.
- The surface should not be overly heated. The optimal temperature range is between 5°C and 35°C
- If it is about to rain, frost, or there is mist, allow the conditions to clear before applying the treatment.
To ensure that the product is suitable for your particular type of installation, it is recommended that you carry out a pretest on a hidden area, or on an unused piece. In addition, wear personal protective gear when applying the product. After the process, you can use white spirit to wash the tools that have been used.
You get to make savings on your building’s maintenance budget when you use the Faber B1 700 to stain-proof the surfaces. For starters, it comes in affordable 1L bottles and 5L cans. It also has a 10 to 15 m² per litre rate of coverage, meaning that you get to work on a large surface area with each unit purchased. The protection that is provided, where you get to cut down on the resources used for the cleaning, results in further reduced costs.
